The Most Important Vitamins That We All Need More Of

Taking a vitamin supplement is not something uncommon. What most people end up doing wrong is not reading the label. Often people take supplements that do not contain the most important vitamins that the average individual needs the most. This happens because most adults do not make an informed decision when they choose a vitamin supplement.

One of the most important vitamins that we need and do not get enough of is Vitamin D. Half of the world’s population suffers from a vitamin D deficiency. This wonder vitamin helps with mood regulation, absorption of other vitamins, improves metabolic rates thus increases our caloric expenditure and more.

Vitamins A, C, E, K, and B vitamins are also important. They help different organs work correctly and they are considered precursors to many enzymatic processes within our bodies. Vitamin B is the most important one because it is the most difficult to get especially vitamin B12. While vitamin B12 is present in some plants, fruits, and vegetables, it can be found in small quantities. It is much more abundant in certain animal products and organs. For this reason, adults that avoid meat due to their personal beliefs, choices, or preferences, will need to take a vitamin supplement that contains vitamin B12.

Lastly, a high-quality vitamin supplement should also contain some minerals. Iron is the mineral that we see the least often written on labels. Also, minerals such as Zinc, Magnesium, and Calcium are just as important. They can help restore the natural balance of hormones, reduce the risk of developing depression, increase libido, improve sleep quality, and more.

All of the above-mentioned vitamins and minerals are considered essential. It does not help anyone to make a supplement that lists 20 or more vitamins and minerals but does not contain the ones listed above. A vitamin supplement needs to contain at least half of them to be considered useful.
